Metis Training & Development Part of Award-winning Team
Metis Training & Development is proud to be part of the award-winning team with SkillSoft PLC and Lunn Poly, who have won the prestigious first prize in the Institute of IT Training Awards for “Internal e-Learning Project of the Year,” for Lunn Poly’s new customer-facing booking system, “Genie”. Working as the content developer, Metis helped to create a bespoke in-house e-Learning programme to train 5,500 sales staff across 770 travel shops in the UK. Judges were impressed that - despite a complex IT infrastructure, with limited Internet access - over 4,500 staff were trained in just four weeks, achieving higher pass rates than anticipated (80%+) and reducing training costs by more than 50%.
Speaking at the event, a delighted Ros Mackenzie - business design manager at Lunn Poly and head of the team responsible for the project - was particularly enthusiastic about the results, saying:
“The team we worked with were so flexible and tuned in to our needs – even though we often had to adjust the brief at a moment’s notice. They actually designed a dedicated development site which allowed us to review and test the e-Learning content live at every stage - drastically reducing the timescales involved so that the impact of the training in our shops during our busy trading period was kept to an absolute minimum.”

Metis Training & Development Wins Top US Training Award
Metis Training & Development Limited "Coaching with Confidence" series has been named one of the top training products of 2003 by HR Executive Magazine. The e-Learning course, developed by Metis and marketed by SkillSoft, provides the user with a coaching blended tool kit.
Each year, HR Executive Magazine, the leading HR journal in the US, assesses all training and e-Learning products and recognises the top seven that provide real value to the HR community. The "Coaching with Confidence" series was selected as it provided innovative solutions to help HR professionals contribute to business goals.
Metis became a provider of course content for SkillSoft International in 2000. They initially provided content for management and professional development e-Learning courses for UK training requirements, but increasingly, a number of the courses provided by Metis have been localised for the US market. US based SkillSoft Corporation is a provider of enterprise-wide e-Learning solutions focused on professional development and business education.

Metis Training & Development Creates e-Learning Solution for Topps Tiles
Metis Training & Development has successfully implemented a bespoke e-Learning training solution for Topps Tiles, which will help the successful retailer build upon their reputation for outstanding customer service. The programme delivered via Topps Tiles Training College provides training to all of Topps Tiles’ 1,300 staff across its 200 branches on various aspects of customer service, including the EPOS system.
Topps Tiles’ success has been built on providing both value for money products and a superior customer service. The management were keen to maintain the company’s high level of customer satisfaction as they grew, but were faced with the dual challenge of a set training budget and staff spread throughout their branches in the UK. Metis Training & Development’s solution was not only to create a number of bespoke e-Learning courses for Topps, but to provide training on how to use e-Learning authoring tools and the learning management system to create future courses themselves.
