At Metis, we believe that effective e-Learning solutions can only be developed on a foundation of sound instructional design. All of our e-Learning solutions incorporate the following instructional strategies:
- Progression through learning levels as defined by Bloom’s taxonomy—Knowledge, Comprehension, Application, Analysis (Synthesis, Evaluation).
- Testable objectives that are relevant to our client's content and aims.
- Comprehensive testing of all objectives to ensure learner retention and understanding of content.
- Clear signposting within e-Learning courses to ensure that learners are aware of what is expected of them, and what they will be able to achieve on completion of the course.
- Well-defined content structure ensuring that all key themes are comprehensively explained, content is shown to the learner in the context of a “real-life” situation, and that the learner has the opportunity to self-test against the defined objectives.
- High levels of interactivity both within the e-Learning content itself, and through self-assessment questions, exercises, and links to other resources.
Of course, each e-Learning solution is different, as are the requirements of individual organisations. Due to our flexible application of instructional design strategies, each Metis solution is tailored to specific needs and relevant content areas. |
